Make your life easier !! Oh yes please ! There is nothing wrong with taking a shortcut, a side step to your goal, just make life that little bit easier and give you more time with your twins and triplets, to do what you want to do! Or what you want THEM to do ! Haha ! Ive compiled a few parent hacks that I hope will make your life less fraught. I will add to them as I think of more but here are a few to start off my page !

But you’ve been rushing and one spits up juice on their pretty clean clothes ! Just great ! Everyones going to notice and you can’t get it washed now, it will dry and you’ll never get it out. Try Tide To Go ! Its an instant stain remover that will remove most fresh food and drink stains on the spot. It has stain solution that breaks down the food particles until they disappear. These awesome little strips of plastic are perfect for all sorts of jobs where you don’t want to drill holes that would be permanent or fastenings would be problematic. Tying guards around a fire, or attaching baby gates to stairs !
Simply attach the brackets for the baby gate onto the edge of a thick length of wood, then attach the wood to the Newel post at the end of the balustrade using cable ties. This will keep it firmly in place and you can slot the gate on. No need to be drilling into the Newel post and leaving screw holes that will be unsightly once you no longer need the gate. Also very useful to attach a meshing to a landing with spindles such as these. A baby could easily squeeze through or at the very least get their head stuck. So use cable ties to attach meshing or wooden slats to ensure your babies safety whilst upstairs.
High Chair Hook
This is an ingenious idea to not only keep your bibs handy but also as a way of keeping them all neat and tidy. Stick a simple hook with either velcro or sticky tape to the back of your babies high chairs. They will be quick at hand when you’re preparing your twins or triplets for meals!
Neat and simple, doesnt need to be any expensive hook, a simple plastic one from any hardware store will do the trick and you have a space saving, time saving addition to mealtimes.
This is a must have if you have any age children up to 10 – 11 years who don’t yet appreciate how dangerous parking lots are. If you are getting out of the car and are trying to get a younger child in a stroller or for whatever reason your attentions are diverted elsewhere, your other children have got out of the car, the last thing you want is for them to start running between the cars. So these clever magnetic pads attach to the side of the car and they have to keep their hand on the palm print until theyre told by you they can stop. You tell them that they must not take their hand off the palm print until you say its safe for them to do so. The same applies coming back to the car if for any reason they cannot get straight in.
There are different palm print designs to choose so each child can have their own. The magnetic back doesnt damage the car paintwork and your children will be safe !
There is also a decal to use at home to mark the spot for a ‘Time Out’ if thats how you discipline your twins or triplets. I didnt have these, but I would guess that you will need one for each child if yours are anything like mine. It wasn’t usually one that needed time out, but all three, and they all had to have different spots otherwise the naughtiness continued in the Time Out spot !
Its called the Penalty Pal !
Dishwasher Shoe Cleaning !
You can wash more than just pots and cutlery in the dishwasher ! Although I would not recommend putting shoes and pots in at the same time! I wash toothbrushes, plastic toys, action figures, cutters, anything that potentially could go in the mouth and will harbour germs. Yes you could wash in the sink but its rather time consuming so everything in the dishwasher, including shoes, sandals, flip flops. I don’t recommend a hot wash, and certainly dont put in anything that is valuable, but trainers, sandals, things you could potentially put in the washing machine are perfectly fine to be washed in the dishwasher – all those smelly trainers ! Ugh !
Race The Clock – Egg Timer Tidy Up
This is an awesome game, or at least my triplets thoroughly loved it. They would fight over toys to put away! It was easy to get them to help without even realising it and a huge relief to me that I didnt have to spend time doing it myself. Things never went back in the same box however, but they didnt seem to mind when they were playing the next day.
I used a 5 minute timer, its long enough for them to have got their toys away but not too long that they have either forgotten what they’re supposed to be doing and started playing with the toys again, or they’re too tired and don’t have the energy to carry on.
Get a large sand timer, they’re not expensive and its easier for them to see the timer across the room and can hurry each other along as they see the sand falling away. But be warned, if you leave them thinking they will be good little twins or triplets, you will find out who is the cunning one, when they turn the timer over to give themselves more time to finish, particularly if there is a treat if they do it in time !
