Whilst I was researching products for my website, I have come across some really neat ideas ! There are always solutions to the various problems we encounter bringing up our children and I had to stop at these brilliant drying mats ! I used a towel on the countertop with my triplets paraphernalia, which was okay but the towel got soaked after a short time and that was more mess to clear up. I love these mats, theyre colourful and brilliant for draining bottles, teats, collars… everything ! Most of us wash up and then put straight into the steriliser to get equipment ready for the next feeding round, but theres always extra stuff hanging around which can sit neatly on the ‘grass’ and ‘flowers’ dripping into the white base, leaving the baby equipment out of the water, drying quicker and uncontaminated. Did you ever think you would find a grass bottle drying rack? No mowing required !
The baby bottle drying mat comes in two colours, green and clear, depending on which appeals to you more. It has accessories like little twigs or flowers to ‘plant’ in the grass that create more drying space.
The ‘twigs’ and ‘flowers’ can easily hold items to dry of all shapes and sizes.
The flexible grass blades supports items upright in the grass, allowing them to drain and not sit in any water residue.
The excess water drips down the ‘grass’ and through holes in the base, collecting at the bottom of the tray for easy disposal. The tray requires emptying regularly otherwise mould could grow.
The baby bottle drying station is in two pieces, the grass section and the white base, both are said to be easy to clean by the manufacturer.
Two-piece design is easy to use and easy to clean
The manufacturers recommendation is that it is not dishwasher safe and that it should be washed before use and periodically to ensure that there is no contaminated water lurking between the blades of grass where bacteria or mould could grow. However having read reviews, many parents are putting it in the dishwasher, on the top shelf, and it is washing perfectly well. It seems that this is the most economical way to wash the ‘grass’ otherwise its in warm soapy water and probably a bit time consuming.
The ‘grass’ is 10″ (25cm) square, the ‘twigs’ and ‘flowers’ are extras.
Reviews on this grass bottle drying rack rave about how useful it is, it will hold 7 bottles despite being on the small side, along with various other items, all strategically positioned. Maybe for twins and triplets you’ll need two or three but well worth the money.
